Setting Up Proxmox and Ubuntu Server

Before installing Ubuntu Server on a virtual machine, you'll need to set up your Proxmox environment.

  1. Download and install Proxmox on your server hardware.
  2. After installation, log into the Proxmox web interface to manage your server.
  3. Configure your Proxmox environment, including network settings and storage.

Before creating a virtual machine, you'll need to create a storage pool to store it.

  1. In the Proxmox web interface, go to 'Datacenter' and then click on 'Storage'.
  2. Follow the steps to create a new storage pool, specifying its type, name, and other settings.

Once the storage pool is set up, you can proceed to install Ubuntu Server.

  1. Upload the Ubuntu Server ISO to the storage pool you created.
  2. Create a new virtual machine and select the Ubuntu Server ISO as the installation media.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Ubuntu Server.
